Moxley

Moxley chose us 17 years ago, and this handsome, feisty old man has left an indelible mark on our family.

Moxley was an intrepid hunter of our dinners and our arms, an intense snuggler and pillow stealer at night, and a not quite willing, but tolerant, participant of our daughter’s dress up games. He made sure to greet each guest at our home, and investigated all of their bags and purses for anything that might be edible. He could never quite make up his mind about whether he wanted affection or play, and he would often switch between licks and bites and back again. He enjoyed exploring the backyard, would purr so much that he drooled, and warmed our laps when we were working.

He had a fiery spirit, which he demonstrated even in his final days, and he is greatly missed.

Dr. Sandra was compassionate and calming. She spent a great deal of time with me and Moxley, listening to my memories of him in his mischievous youth, and reassuring me that we had made the right choice. It was a very difficult transition for Moxley, and I will always be grateful for her care for him during his final moments, and the tenderness she showed us both afterwards.
